As a scientific specialist library, the Carinthian state library houses over 150,000 media units, including many smaller and larger treasures such as one of the first large encyclopedias, the so-called "Zedler", valuable objects such as incunabula, old atlases and maps, acts from the early days of Carinthian printing history, first editions and rare illustrated books. You will find elaborate literature on topics such as politics, political and administrative sciences, classical archeology and other classical studies, prehistory and early history, history, folklore, fine arts and art history, earth sciences and biology.
