The Slovenian language in Carinthia and the history of its speakers are the subject of numerous films and documentaries. Some of these films have been commissioned by the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF). The majority of the films have been produced by speakers of this language for the purpose of telling the story from their perspective. The broadcasting of these films on public-service television has occasionally led to vicious protests and claims for “redresses”, while other productions have not even been aired. The following list cannot offer a comprehensive overview, but can cast a spotlight on some films.
